An unusual house with great facilities set in prime surf country, with easy access to Santander.

This beautiful, traditional Cantabrian finca hides an unusual and eclectic interior with lovely spacious reception areas and an open-plan kitchen. Big windows look out over the garden to fantastic views of the bay and Santander beyond. Large sofas with masses of cushions line one end of the livinf room, while other sofas and chairs form smaller break-out areas. There are several dinning areas, both indoors and out.

The lower floor houses a hamman, plunge pool, gym, jacuzzi and a ‘gentleman’s drinking area’ with wine cellar. It is all amazingly unusual and beautifully done, with antiques and Asian artefacts making it elegant but fun.

Two very spacious master suites sit on either side of the mezzanine-style first floor with huge windows looking over to the sea. A flight of steps leads up to a children’s bedroom with a play area (this can house more children on request).

A hidden downstairs ‘Chinese’ bedroom is prettily decorated and has direct garden access, as does the self-contained guest suite with a kitchenette.

The annexe is a separate house located just below the main house and has two double, en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen and a living area. It’s a little more rustic than the main house in décor and style but is perfectly nice.

The configuration of the estate means there are numerous places in which to relax, be it beside the pool, by the lake, in the bamboo grove, in the greenhouse or vegetable garden, or even in the giant outdoor bath under the shade of a walnut tree.
