This unique villa is situated in the exclusive neighbourhood of Punta La Mona, only 500m from the traditional village of La Herradura.

This is the pretty side of the Costa del Sol, with cliffs plunging into clear blue sea and mountains rising in the background. La Herradura is an attractive seaside village much favoured by wealthy Spanish families and a world away from the bling of the better known resorts. It has a variety of excellent, small restaurants with fabulous fish and seafood on offer. There is also a variety of cafes and bars and a market within walking distance of the villa, as is the main beach.

The pretty Marina del Este is five minutes away and also has a welcoming selection of places to eat, drink and relax. Boats can be chartered here for day trips and there is a good diving school as well as a variety of water sports.

Set on the cliff with fabulous views over the Mediterranean and in a quiet residential area, the house offers stunning indoor/outdoor living with large bay windows sliding wide open onto a series of terraces with plenty of space for relaxing, sunbathing and al-fresco dining.

The heated infinity pool looks directly out over the sea, as does the little jacuzzi terrace, while the sauna hangs dramatically over the water.

There are five good double/twin air-conditioned bedrooms, all en-suite and spread over two floors. Two other bedrooms, one at the back of the house with no sea view, and another on the pool level, are not quite the same standard but can be used on request, providing accommodation for a maximum of 14 guests.

The whole house is wonderfully well run and super organised, and comes with a good daily housekeeper and the possibility of a cook.

It’s a perfect house for a family with teenagers or grown-up children, as all the fun of La Herradura is within easy walking distance.

We can’t get enough of the views from this house, which is quite literally perched above the sea.
