Perched on a cliff promontory on the edge of Carvoeiro village, and boasting stunning sea views, this is a four-hectare haven of peace and privacy.

Both the village and the beach are within walking distance. The courageous can even swim in the sea from the rocks to the side of the garden. A boat with a skipper can also be chartered for day trips.

The house was designed by a renowned American architect and is the epitome of 70’s cool in design. It is surrounded by gardens filled with olive trees, fig trees and flowers, and there is an unusual interior courtyard with a water feature and pots of giant cacti – the perfect place for an evening drink or al-fresco dinner. Various other seating and dining areas are placed around the gardens and numerous terraces.

The master bedroom, set to one side of the living areas, is accessed from outside through bay windows that look out across the garden and pool to the sea. The suite is very spacious and has its own large sitting room and a tiny courtyard with a water feature.

A large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom is on the other side of the house, again on garden level, and has a pretty terrace overlooking the gardens and the sea.

A further two twin bedrooms and a double bedroom, all en-suite, are on the lower garden level, accessed by a staircase from the main living area and also from outside.

The house has a wonderful, large, open-plan living area, all fronted with big bay widows. The décor is a cool blend of antiques and contemporary furniture, mixed with lovely pieces brought back from the owners’ travels overseas.
