Villa Pablo is a lovely, contemporary house in the hills with stunning views over the bay of Olmeto. Clean, simple lines are the trademarks at this house, which is perfect for holidays with family and friends.
Set into a hill and on two levels, the spacious main floor houses the master bedroom and open-plan kitchen with indoor dining. A separate pavilion across from the kitchen houses the sitting room and TV. Furnished with simple white sofas and bright cushions – plus of course the ubiquitous portrait of Napoleon – the sitting room also has a high-powered telescope for watching the super yachts that regularly anchor in the bay below.
The other bedrooms are all on the lower-ground floor and are simply furnished with pretty, en-suite, Italian mosaic shower rooms. All have French windows opening onto a teak walkway with access to the upper levels and pool. The fifth bedroom on this level is a double with en-suite shower room and issonly accessible from outside.
The house is fronted by a large wooden deck with ‘ship style’ railings and a small pool. This area is furnished for outdoor living with sunbeds and an outside sitting and dining area.
The house is conveniently situated for shops and restaurants. The beach is quite literally down the path and the marinas of Porto Pol or Propriano (both within ten minutes’ drive), have boat hire facilities, diving schools and water sports, as well as a large choice of restaurants, bars and shops.
This is great value for money for those wishing to enjoy the pleasures of Corsican living. It is on the quieter side of the island and the beaches remain unusually quiet even during the peak summer weeks.
With the scent of the maquis drifting up, the fabulous views out over the Mediterranean and a glass of rosé in hand, this is laidback Corsican living at its best.
