Restaurant Sarong, north of Seminyak, is probably the best restaurant on the island. It’s expensive but worth it. Come early for a cocktail before dinner and don’t forget to book ahead. Another evening try its younger sister Mama San – great food and a lovely bar upstairs.

Jengalla is the place to go for pottery in Jimberan. You are going to wish you had checked in an empty bag.

We love Mades Warung for shopping in Seminyak. It’s just off the main strip and has lots of different shops.

Check out Bingin Beach on the Bukit Peninsula. The steps are worth it for the sunset and a Bintang beer.

El Kabron – at Uluwatu on the Bukit Peninsula – is great fun for a night out.
