Lapland
Lapland is not one landscape, nor one season.
Where you choose to stay — and when — defines the experience.
Finland’s largest and northernmost region, Lapland stretches from dense southern forests to the open fells and wide tundra of the far north. Crossed by the Arctic Circle, it is a land of Northern Lights, Polar Night, and the midnight sun — where the horizon feels endless and silence dominates.
From mid-December to January, the Polar Night settles over the far north. The sun does not rise above the horizon, and daylight becomes a soft, lingering twilight — a unique and atmospheric period.
From January onward, light gradually returns, bringing crisp, bright winter days through spring.

Summer is a different world entirely. Under the midnight sun, nature stays awake around the clock. July can be warm — and yes, mosquitoes are part of it.
Late August and September are often underestimated. With darker skies returning and temperatures typically ranging from 0°C to 20°C (colder at night), early autumn marks the return of the Northern Lights, combined with striking autumn colours.
The aurora season typically runs from late August until the end of May, depending on solar activity and weather conditions.
