Paris & Elsewhere
For the food, for the flea markets and for the racing.
Paris is the City of Lights, romance, high fashion and food… and we could go on. With more museums, galleries and sights to see than anyone could possibly cover in one stay, Paris is rightly one of the most visited cities in the world.
Its restaurants range from cute pavement bistros to temples to haute cuisine, its shops from flea markets to designer boutiques. Go at any time, though possibly avoid the ‘trippers’ and the oppressive heat of August.
Normandy is many Parisians’ choice for a weekend away, offering chic, traditional seaside resorts such as Deauville and Trouville.
The region has a wealth of great restaurants, pretty towns and villages and a long affinity with horse racing, epitomised by the world-famous racecourse at Deauville and by the many prestigious haras (stud farms) hidden in the lush, green countryside.
