A 36-foot motorboat, together with its captain, is available to hire by the day, which is perfect for exploring the quiet bays and pebbled beaches of the island. You could even take the boat across to nearby Marathi (population 12), a castaway island with an excellent local taverna.
Patmos abounds in barely disturbed bays lined with sand and pebble beaches and lulled by limpid blue waters.
