This gem of a house is privately situated down one of the leafy lanes behind the town’s famous Quadrado, the UNESCO-listed main square where everybody goes to see and be seen. In the afternoons, people play football there or perform capoeira, while at night the historic square sparkles with fairy lights and the tables fill with friends and families sharing food and cocktails.

A chic, bohemian house, Casa Quadrado is beautifully decorated in a cool and spacious style mixing local materials with specially commissioned pieces of furniture by artists and craftsmen. With a lovely infinity pool, the great outdoor/indoor living area allows the cooling breezes to enter – wonderful in the very hot season.

The house is fully staffed and cooking can be arranged, though it’s just as easy to walk to the restaurants on the beach or around the Quadrado.
