The masseria was built in 1689 and was recently restored to the highest standards. The interiors have been designed by Alexander Waterworth and specially chosen to compliment the masseria’s striking architecture, providing a laidback and serene living space that is luxurious yet relaxed.
There is plenty of space for both indoor and outdoor dining with facilities for 18 guests. Al-fresco meals are served either on the breakfast terrace or on the shady pool terrace.
The main pool is set in its own one-acre lawned garden and has a 24m ‘beach’ with 16m swimming lanes and a shallow play area for little ones, plus its own pool house with a kitchen and bathroom.
For those wanting to sunbathe in privacy, there is a huge roof terrace with large day beds and a second, pretty pool. This is a great place to gather in the evening to watch the sun set on the Adriatic with a sundowner, followed by dinner on the candlelit terrace with the lights of Monopoli twinkling on the coast.
The gardens are made up of a set of terraces with a lawn path bordered by lavender, wild flowers and fruit and nut trees. There is a walled citrus garden, 100 acres of olive groves, a vegetable and herb garden providing organic produce for the kitchen, a children’s playground, a chicken coop where the free-roaming chickens produce fresh eggs, and for the athletic, a brand new astroturf tennis court.
This is a beautiful house, built to the highest standards and in a wonderful location – perfect for those wishing to enjoy the food and culture of this very traditional part of Italy. You will be beautifully looked after by the dedicated team.
There are six bedrooms in the main house, all with en-suite bathrooms. They are all bright and airy with easy access to the gardens and terraces and have wonderful sea views.
There are a further two interconnecting suites in the self-contained pool house and a further double room in the annexe.
Finally, and for an extra charge, there’s a 27-foot-long Airstream Overlander from the 1970s that’s been beautifully converted into a private suite with a kitchen, living room and wet room. The airstream is located 10 minutes from the property and has it’s own entrance. It can be rent on it’s own.

We love the sense of history in Puglia’s masserie – historic, fortified farm estates built in chunky limestone and painted in brilliant white.
