This very beautiful Sri Lankan tea house is set on a working tea estate in the hills behind Galle.

The house is spacious and airy, and beautifully done with open living and dining areas. Cosy seating is arranged around a huge Javanese coffee table with western-style sofas and chairs taking up one half of the 12-metre living area; the other end is partially open to the skies with a large tree growing up through the roof from an orchid garden.

A veranda runs down one side of the living area with built-in sofas and a lily pond overlooking the jungle. The terrace to the other side looks towards the sea and has cane sofas and planters chairs. A roof terrace offers views on all sides – the perfect spot for sundowners.

All the bedrooms are individually decorated and have en-suite bathrooms.

Set in the garden is a large, L-shaped infinity pool with comfortable sun loungers and parasols.

There is the possibility of renting a beach cottage with this house. The cottage sleeps four in two double bedrooms and can be used as a beach cabana during the day. The cottage opens directly onto the beach and comes with a pool and its own staff.
