If you’re looking to escape the crowds, you’ll love this hidden retreat on Bali’s unspoiled west coast, surrounded by rice terraces and close to some great surf spots.

This unusual house is set away from the crowds on Bali’s west coast between traditional villages in the Regency of Tabanan. Commonly called the rice cellar of Bali due to its magnificent rice fields, this is unspoiled Bali at its most green and lush, yet still only a short walk from some great beaches and surf spots. 

The house offers wellbeing, security, comfort and a peaceful environment. Standard capacity is nine people but extra beds can be set up on request at an additional charge, and the spa building can be converted into a comfortable extra bedroom with two single beds, increasing the total capacity to 14 guests. 

Spacious indoor (air conditioned) and outdoor living areas provide different places to sit and relax and dining facilities seat 12 guests comfortably. The staff work 24-hour shifts and include housekeeping, cooks, gardeners and a house manger who can help you with day-to-day activities. The house is surrounded by nature and has easy access to the surfing spots of Balian and Medewi where surfing lessons can be arranged.

As the villa is off the beaten track, we recommend guests use the meal plan, which includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks and dinner. The menu is tailored to your tastes and focuses on providing home-cooked meals using fresh ingredients.

The lovely, quiet garden has a large, heated, saline pool and has kept many of the original trees which offer shady corners and tranquility, an important feature. This is a wonderful place for families to enjoy authentic Bali away from the noise and bustle of the more popular tourist spots.
