Pristine islands with pure white sand and peerless diving.
Cliched it may be, but it’s hard to resist the appeal of a pristine tropical island complete with swaying palm trees, white-sand beaches, turquoise lagoons and abundant marine life.
Well that’s the Maldives in a nutshell – 1,190 tiny islands, most of them measuring less than a couple of kilometres and bobbing only a few metres above sea level. A few of them, however, are home to some of the world’s most luxurious resorts and villas.
The dry season in the Maldives runs from December to April, so it’s an ideal destination for a spot of winter sun or an Easter family holiday.
