The Balearic Islands of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza are jewels of the Mediterranean. With their mix of chic resorts, beach clubs, trendy boutiques, cliffs plunging into azure seas, sandy beaches, dramatic mountains, orange and lemon groves, charming villages and a very easy-going way of life, these islands have much to offer.
The baby sister to Mallorca and Ibiza, Menorca retains its old-world charm. The beaches are fantastic with crystal-clear water and little coves on one coast and long sandy beaches to the east.
Many of Menorca’s prettiest houses are set back from the coast in the unspoilt countryside where quiet lanes wind through fields and woods, although nothing is far on this quiet island.
The capital Mahon stands on one of Europe’s deepest natural harbours, a huge inlet with numerous creeks bordered by fishing villages and little quays lined with seafood restaurants.
